KG Planning Ltd is a chartered town planning consultancy that provides professional advice to companies and individuals across Lancashire and the North West of England. Advice and services are provided with regards to all aspects of planning and development matters.
Director - Kate Grimshaw BSc (Hons), MTPl, MRTPI
Kate is a chartered town planner with 20 years of planning experience gained from both the public and private sectors. Kate has previously worked for Bolton Metro, Rossendale Borough Council and Lancashire County Council as well as managing a national telecoms team at GVA Grimley. During this time Kate has built up a positive working relationship with many of the Local Planning Authorities in the area.
Kate has been involved in a wide range of projects including the successful promotion of sites through the development plan process, site evaluation and appraisals, the preparation of planning and appeal statements and the submission of planning applications and appeals for a wide range of developments.
Kate Grimshaw has been a Chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) for 18 years. Membership of the RTPI means that a person has met the highest standards of education and continues to do so throughout their career with a stringent requirement for Continuing Professional Development. It also means that KG Planning Ltd acts under the regulations and ethical guidelines of the RTPI and the Code of Professional Conduct.

KG Planning can present on behalf of client at committee meetings, highlighting concisely why committee members should reach a certain decision taking into account relevant planning policies.
Plan Monitoring
KG Planning can monitor emerging local plan documents and summit representations to support the aspirations of land owners and developers.
Planning Applications
The preparation and submission of the various types of applications including: outline, full, reserved matters, variation of planning conditions, lawful development certificates and prior approvals.
Pre Application Advice
Positive engagement and negotiation with Local Planning Authorities prior to the submission of a formal planning application to ensure the final scheme stands the best possible chance of being validated quickly and gaining planning approval.
Planning Appeals
Preparation of the necessary statements and documents and submission of planning appeals to the Planning Inspectorate.
